NOTICE OF ELECTION


Teignbridge District Council


Election of a Town Councillor for


Ashburton Town Council


  1. An Election of One Town Councillor is to be held for Ashburton Town Council.

  2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the office of the Returning Officer at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX on any day after the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) between the hours of 9:30am and 4:00pm, but no later than by 4:00pm on Thursday 11 May 2017.

  3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX, during normal office hours.

  4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 8 June 2017.

  5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by Monday 22 May 2017.

  6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX by 5:00pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.

  7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX by 5:00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.

  8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on grounds of physical incapacity or  for work or service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Forde House,  Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 4XX by 5:00pm on Thursday 8 June 2017. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5:00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017. To apply on the grounds of work or service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to  the polling station in person after 5:00pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.

Ashburton Town Council Lottery celebrates its 1000
26/04/2017

Started in 1998, the lottery has paid out nearly £70,000 in grants to local organisations.

During the 1000th week four additional prizes will be paid out of £50 each, in addition to the usual three prizes of £100, £30, £20.

The additional draws will take place on
Saturday, 3 June outside Ashburton Town Hall
