Statement of Reasons
It is proposed to introduce 20mph speed restriction on several roads in Ashburton with the intention that it will lead to a reduced likelihood of collisions and an improvement of local amenities.
Specifically, the restrictions proposed are for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.
